Recap

A 14th minute strike from Andrew Clothier was the difference between the two sides who began the day second from top and second from bottom in the WaiBOP Federation League Division 1 table.

Clothier has proven to be something of a shining light since he’s been back home on his American University holiday break. He’s scored four times in six games and has acted as the lightening rod that has sparked the performance of the players around him.

A tight game played in challenging conditions didn’t see any further goals, meaning the Stanley Joinery Swifts held on for their fourth win on the trot. The three points also saw the team shoot up the table on a day when a couple of matches fell victim to the weather.

This was another big scalp for the Swifts and an equally impressive result as last week’s victory over Ngongotaha.

Sorry, no photos. It was way too wet to get anything decent.
